The Copenhagen Card Hop is the bus-based version of Denmark's official city pass: free entry to more than 40 museums and attractions plus unlimited rides on Stromma's hop-on hop-off buses, in place of the metro and train coverage its sibling card includes. Is the Copenhagen Card Hop worth it?

The math depends on how you like to travel. A single hop-on hop-off day pass alone runs close to EUR 40 to 50 on its own, so pairing it with even two or three free museum entries usually clears the 24-hour card price. It is a weaker deal if you already plan to walk everywhere in the compact city center, since you would be paying for bus access you barely use.

What is not included?

There is no metro, train or harbor bus access on this version, which rules out day trips to Kronborg Castle, Roskilde or the airport transfer without buying a separate ticket. Tivoli's rides, food, drinks and guided walking tours are all extra. Each covered attraction allows a single visit, and roughly half close on Mondays, so check hours before building a tight schedule.

Hop gives you a guided, hop-on hop-off overview of the postcard sights with commentary in six languages, which suits first-time visitors who want orientation as much as transport. The Copenhagen Card Discover swaps the bus for the metro, train and harbor bus network instead, covering more ground and reaching Kronborg Castle or the airport, but without the running commentary. If your itinerary stays inside the city center, Hop is usually the more entertaining pick; if you are planning a day trip outside Copenhagen, Discover is the only one of the two that gets you there.

First-time visitors on a two to four day trip who want an easy orientation loop plus museum access get the most out of this version, and families like the narrated commentary as much as the flexibility to hop off whenever a stop looks interesting. Skip it if your plans include a train-only day trip, since the bus routes never leave the city, or if you are staying under 24 hours and only plan to visit one attraction.

Board at any marked stop along the three Stromma routes; buses run at frequent intervals through the day, with the full Classic Copenhagen loop taking roughly 90 minutes if you stay on board the whole way.
